Announcing the Winners of the 2021 Stanford TLcom Africa Pitch Competition

STANFORD, California, May 31, 2021 -- Out of more than 100 African startups who applied to the 2021 Stanford TLcom Africa Pitch Competition, six finalists were selected to compete based on the innovations they have brought to the African Continent. This competition took place virtually during the 13th Annual Stanford Africa Business Forum, Driving Growth and Innovation for the Next Decade.

During the hour-long pitch competition, each early-stage venture presented a five-minute business pitch, followed by 5-minutes of Q&A. Pricepally took home the first-place prize of $10,000, and WiiQare took home the second place prize of $5,000. The six finalists of the 2021 Stanford TLcom Africa Pitch Competition are:

  • Utiva, Eyitayo Ogunmola, Nigeria

Our four judges for this year are venture capitalists and business leaders who are actively involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem across the continent. They include:
